Sydney New World Major
Big news
Sydney Marathon has been announced as the newest member of the world marathon major series!
Sydney has been growing in popularity for many years and has applied for this stature back in 2022. Its numbers have grown massively with 5000 finishing back in 2022 to 20000 finishing this year! 2025 will see the marathon being held on August 31st.
It will be the hilliest route of them all gathering over 1000ft in elevation over the 26.2 miles (200ft more than Boston and NYC!)
You will still to be able to collect a majors medal if you complete the original six - Boston,Tokoyo, NYC, Chicago, London and Berlin however the medals will be expanding to include Sydney.
