Track and Field (100m)
1 athlete- Oblique Seville World 100m champion (Tokyo 2025, 9.77s PB), equal-10th on world all-time list, 2024 Olympic finalist, Diamond League London winner 2025
There is a particular kind of electricity that runs through a sprint finish. The crowd noise hits you before you even reach the line, a wall of sound that seems to physically push you forward. For Oblique Seville, the London Stadium holds that feeling like few other places on earth, and on 18 July he will return to it as the fastest man in the world.
Seville, 25, confirmed his place in the history books last year in Tokyo when he clocked a personal best of 9.77 seconds to win the 100 metres at the World Athletics Championships. It was the first time a Jamaican man had taken that title since the great Usain Bolt did it in 2015, and the performance placed Seville equal tenth on the all-time world list. That kind of company needs no further explanation.
But before Tokyo, there was London. In 2025, Seville lined up in a stacked Diamond League 100m field at the very same stadium and delivered a performance that set the tone for everything that followed. He was the only man in the field to break ten seconds that day, crossing the line in 9.86 and sending a clear message to every rival who would face him at the World Championships.
Now he comes back. The Novuna London Athletics Meet on 18 July will be his first return to the British capital since lifting that world title, and Seville arrives having already signalled his intentions for 2026. On 30 May, he opened his season at the National Stadium in Kingston with a sub-10 clocking of 9.96, smooth and controlled, a man who knows exactly what he is capable of.
For any athlete who has ever stood on a start line and drawn on a memory to calm the nerves or sharpen the focus, Seville's words will resonate. London gave him something that no training session can manufacture. It gave him belief.
The Novuna London Athletics Meet is the world's biggest one-day athletics event and forms the eleventh meeting of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League. The series spans 15 of the most prestigious meetings in global track and field across four continents, running from its Shanghai and Keqiao opening on 16 May through to the final in Brussels on 4 and 5 September.
Fewer than ten percent of tickets remain. The world champion is coming back, and London will be ready for him.

To get the Diamond League win in London last year was very special to me and I can't wait to get back out there and do it all again.

London will always hold great memories for me, from the noise of the crowd to competing against the best athletes in the world. It also gave me the confidence I needed heading into the World Champs and inspired me to push even harder. This time around I start as world champion, a title which brings with it pressure but also privilege, and I want to enjoy every second.
