There is no I in team - The Belgians took the crown of the Bigs Backyard Ultra World Championships and gained the world record in the process. The trio of ultra runners work hard and ran an incredible 110 yards which amounts to 458 miles. The gang of 3 didn’t start the 111th lap choosing to all “lose” the race but win as a team. Amongst the team was Merijin who completed the Spine alongside Orran back in 2023.

Orran has some funny memories of his quirky nature out on the Pennine way. Clearly an extraordinary runner with a nack for the big stuff! The Australian team were second and The USA were third with Meg Ekert in the assist breaking the woman’s record by an amazing 11 laps.. It now stands at 87 and was previously 74.

What an event - will you give it a go?
