ESTR's very own Nikki Arthur is lacing up her trail shoes and heading to the mountains of central Greece this week, as she prepares to take on one of the most demanding ultra-endurance challenges on the calendar, the 3 UltraSummits TihioRace 250km.

Set amongst the dramatic landscapes of Tihio Doridos in the Phocis region, this extraordinary event launches on 3rd June 2026, and it promises everything you'd expect from a 250-kilometre mountain ultra: brutal climbs, breathtaking scenery, and the kind of suffering that only the most dedicated athletes would willingly sign up for. Three major summits stand between competitors and the finish line, and the relentless Greek terrain will test even the most seasoned ultra-runner to their absolute limits.

Nikki kicks off her adventure bright and early on Monday, 1st June, catching the morning flight off the island as she begins the journey to Phocis. With two full days before the starting gun fires, she'll have time to acclimatise, final-check her kit, and soak in the extraordinary mountain environment that will soon become both her playground and her proving ground.

The Phocis region, nestled in the heart of mainland Greece, is a place of genuine natural splendour, rugged peaks, ancient paths, and an atmosphere that feels a world away from the modern hustle. For ultra-runners, it is the perfect canvas for an event of this magnitude.
